It’s been a while since I made a post on here, so I just wanted to give a quick update on my living situation. Well, I’m happy to say that I am officially a homeowner in the suburbs of the Chicago area. I closed on my house a little over 4 months ago, and I enjoy living in a home compared to an apartment complex. I could name off a dozen reasons as to why I like home better, but I don’t want this blog post to be long-winded.
While I am a happy homeowner, I didn’t realize the upkeep that owning a home comes with. One thing that I recently had to replace was the roof of my home since I was experiencing some leaking in one of the bedrooms. It wasn’t a huge leak or anything but I knew it would only get worse over time.
I decided to use a company that replaces the commercial roof of my father’s business in Indiana. They typically only do roofing in Goshen, Elkhart, and South Bend, but they decided to work on my home as well. They will be coming out next week, so I’ll be sure to post an update on the results. Until then, let me know if you had any unexpected repairs when you bought a home.
